Same Farm, New Masters
The night was cold, and the farm was silent. The animals were tired. They worked every day, but they were always hungry. Old Donkey Ben stood under the weak moonlight and said, “This is not fair. We must change our life.”The next morning, something strange happened. The farmer forgot to feed them. The cows cried, the hens shouted, and the pigs whispered together. Then, suddenly, the animals ran to the food store and broke the door. For the first time, they ate freely. After that day, the animals started a new life. They called it Animal Rule. They made simple laws:
All animals are equal.
No animal is a master.
No animal must be hungry. The pigs, who were very clever, became the leaders. One pig, Red Ear, said, “We need order. We need discipline.” The animals agreed because they trusted him. At first, life became better. The harvest was good. The animals worked together. Words like freedom, unity, and hope filled the air. Even Ben the donkey smiled. But slowly, things changed.

The pigs began to sleep in the farmhouse. They ate more food. They said, “We work with our minds. We need more energy.” The laws changed too. Now it said, “All animals are equal, but some animals are more important.” The hens were confused. The sheep repeated what the pigs said. The strong horse, Max, worked harder and harder. He always said, “I will work more.” One evening, Ben looked at the wall and felt a deep sadness. The words were not the same anymore. The farm was quiet again—but not peaceful.
In the end, the animals looked at the pigs and then at the old farmer who had come back. They could not see the difference. And Ben whispered, “We changed the farm… but we forgot to change ourselves.”
