On his first day at work, Shane felt small and lost. The office was full of people. Everyone wore the same clothes. Everyone spoke the same way. Everyone worked on the same boring products. 

Shane looked around and thought, “Everything here is normal… too normal.” His boss said, “We sell this product. It is good. Now make a marketing plan.” Shane looked at the product. It was fine… but not special. Not interesting. Not different. That night, Shane could not sleep. He remembered something he once heard from Seth Godin.

The idea was simple: “If your product is normal, people will ignore it. You need something remarkable.” “Remarkable…” Shane said softly. The next day, he came with a new idea. “Let’s change the product,” Shane said. “Let’s make it different. Let’s make it bold.” 

His boss was surprised. “Change it? That is risky.” Shane smiled. “Yes. But safe is boring.” They tried something new. The product became colorful, fun, and unique. It was not like other products in the market. At first, people were confused. Then something amazing happened. People started talking. “Have you seen this?” “This is different!” “This is interesting!” The product became popular. No big ads. No loud campaigns. Just people sharing it with others.

One week later, the boss called Shane. “You were right,” he said. “This is not just marketing. This is something special.” Shane looked out the window and smiled. In a world full of normal things, he chose to be different. And that made all the difference.
