Easton and the Secret Jump
Easton was not like other boys. He had a secret. He could jump anywhere in the world—just by thinking about the place. One day, Easton sat in his room. He closed his eyes and thought, “I want to see the Sphinx.”
Jump! In one second, he was in Egypt. The sun was going down. The sky was red and gold. Easton jumped on the Sphinx and smiled at the sunset. “It’s beautiful,” he said. Then he heard a voice. “You like it too?” He turned and saw a girl standing nearby. Her name was Maya. She was kind and brave. They started talking. They laughed. They watched the stars.
Every day after that, Easton jumped to the Sphinx to see Maya. They shared stories, food, and dreams. One night, Maya asked, “Easton, why do you come here?” He smiled. “I came for the Sphinx… but I stay for you.” Maya blushed. “I’m happy you do.” But danger was coming. A group of men wanted to catch Easton. They found out his secret. They wanted his power. Easton had to run. He had to jump far away.
Before he left, he held Maya’s hand. “I’ll come back. I promise.” She nodded. “I’ll wait.” Many weeks passed. Every sunset, Maya sat by the Sphinx. Then one evening, as the sun touched the sand, she heard a sound. Jump! Easton was there—with a flower in his hand. “For you,” he said.
Maya smiled. “You came back.” Easton held her hand. “And I’m never leaving again.”
